Music: Rent – I’ll Cover You (reprise)
Schmood: Burntired.
It’s feels like it’s been such a long time since I last updated this thing. And believe, me, it’s not because things have been boring. The last month and a half has been extremely hectic. Good lord, I am tired. I didn’t think anyone go past being burned out… and then this quarter happened. Madness.
First off in this odyssey I like to call Spring Quarter 2002… High School Outreach. April 9th, 2002. Long day. However it all went well. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive the amount of people we would’ve liked, but I feel the quality of the Outreach more than made up for it. And entertainment… whew… entertainment was great. Thanks so much to you all!! 3/5 Echo Point (Yeah Jason, Errol and Borrach! Too bad Nina wasn’t there… but I still love you!! Oh no…4 more weeks), Uniting Voices, Kaba Modern, Michelle Soriano… you guys rock. There were a few hitches, but not anything big. A lost group here and there… but yeah it all worked out. And at the end of the event, I was treated to a cold shower by a few friends… yay ice coolers. Hehe… I don’t exactly know what I was thinking though… I still went to the PUSO meeting afterwards and the Movie Night afterevent at Smokey’s. Needless to say… I didn’t get to see much of the movie. After HSO and a couple of beers… I straight CRASHED.
The next day I woke up and I was like… It’s over… I can’t believe it’s done. Almost a year of planning… and it’s done. How weird. Withdrawl… but it’s done. I really just have to give thanks to God for pulling us through that one. Thanks to PUSO board, my facilitators, committee members, and everyone else who helped out. Thanks most of all to my two co-coords. Y’all are like Gillette, the best a man can get… (where’s that can opener? I feel like corn.) Seriously though… you’re the best. And I know sometimes I come off as stoic, indifferent, and maybe a bit aloof. But despite all the cracks I make and not answering my phone sometimes… i care about you a great deal. Really really. Hehe… good thing you’re not reading this… that would be a bit embarassing… almost as much so as misspelling embarassing or however you spell it. Maybe I’ll tell you someday… heh.
Well… so after HSO, yet another big event loomed in the horizon… PCN. Not that I dislike PCN. I love PCN, the thrill of performing, and everything during the actual night of PCN. The bad part is all the time leading up to PCN…yeck. Practice, practice, runthrough, runthrough. It can make a person go insane. Maybe we should have a culture show major here or something. Personally, I think Saturday Practices are one of the worst parts of PCN. I mean geez. You gotta wake up at 7 on a Saturday morning, so you can be on campus at 7:30 and run through the show until 3 or 4pm. Grrr… and when you’re on skit, you don’t even really get to chill. Always in the wings… yay. Adding to all this pain, Wayzgoose, UCI’s annual open house/festival thing in Aldrich Park happens during a Saturday practice!! So I got to miss Wayzgoose this year! Fun. Saturday practices do, however, have a redeeming quality… Mix PCN w/ a SuperSoaker and you get last saturday practice. Water fight galore… and this year, the water fight was indeed epic. In my four years here at Irvine, never has there been a water fight to match this one. I’m not sure if it can even be touched next year. We’ll see. All I know is that the CPS2700 owns.
Wow… I’m really tired… I just came back from watching Rent. Man… I love that show… Sooo… I think i’ll continue this long ass blog in the morning or something. Yay.
Falling you say? I musn’t… but sometimes things can be sooo difficult.
i think cpp (or one of the cal states, i forgot) has a pcn major… im serious! i think. congrats to the other co-coord-elect!
